RPI Grad for Math and Science Tutoring

Hi, I am a 2006 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute majoring in mechanical engineering and a minor in biology. I currently work as an automation / machine designer in a manufacturing facility in CT. I taught chemistry as a teacher's assistant at Pace University in 2012. I have also tutored virtually every High School math and science subject over the last five years. Most of my tutoring experience is in SAT/ACT math, physics, chemistry, algebra, and trigonometry. Outside of wor...

I am a sophomore in college taking a very difficult physics course with absolutely no background. Tim is very helpful in the visualization of the word problems and helps build on an understanding of how to work the foundations of physics around a very particular scenario. He is very easy to work with, easy to reach by phone, and is willing to help despite how the hours may drag on. I recommend him highly to any student looking to work through their physics issues. I can say that my problem working skills have greatly improved while working with him, and my grades have gone up the same. He doesn't do too much for you, and doesn't leave you in the dark, he always explains the problems with a proper view of thinking and problem solving skills in mind. In short I really can't recommend him enough. The idea of a tutor may be intimidating to some students as they feel that they are going to be ground out by another professor like figure, which is also why I wanted to add that working with Tim is a lot more like working with another student rather than a teacher, not in the sense that he is any less capable (he is actually very clever), but that there is a really easy going environment to supplement the learning process and it makes working through frustrating material much easier. I have gone through 2 physics tutors and Tim is the one I liked the most.

Tim tutored our 10th grade son for his high school Chemistry and SAT II exams. Our son felt he was extremely knowledgeable and explained concepts clearly and patiently.

I have never before requested a tutor online, so finding Tim was a godsend. He is extremely patient with my sons, as well as gifted in explaining the topics to them. My kids are at different levels in science (13 yr old studies Biology, while the 15 yr old studies Accelerated Chemistry), yet Tim is able to keep them motivated the entire time. The kids really enjoy having Tim come tutor them. They have a much better understanding of the topic after his instruction. He is very easy going and gets along with both of them suburbly. He is extremely assessible and really is quite flexible with his days and times. Both of their grades have improved after having Tim's help.

Tim is the world's best tutor, very patient and caring, quick to assess weaknesses. Professional and always prompt. Just perfect for my 14 year old son! I will not hesitate to use him again.

Tim has been a terrific influence on my two sons who are in 9th and 12th grade. Tim was able to look at their lessons plans, review their work and help them determine exactly where they needed help. If you know most boys, studying is one of their least favorite activities. Tim, however, is so good that they actually ask for him! Rare for a teen to request to do extra work. My eldest son went from a C average on exams to a B+ after just a few sessions. My other son is studying for standardized tests and needed to prepare quickly for concepts he really didn't know well. Tim has simply been wonderful. It is money and time well spent with excellent results. Plus, he is extremely nice.

Tim is a fantastic tutor and we highly recommend him. He is tutoring our son in Honors pre-calc and honors physics. Our son is looking for basic understanding and enrichment. Tim is a mechanical engineer, so he has the expertise that our son is looking for. Tim has been a great help and is willing to stay as long as is needed to get the work accomplished. He is dedicated and kind. We have provided him with textbooks and he reviews the assignments before he comes, which is very helpful for efficient use of time. It has been a pleasure to meet Tim, to see how wonderful a tutor he is, as well as a role model. He is intelligent, patient, and flexible, which makes him a very effective tutor.

Tim is a very patient tutor. I am 59 and needed to brush up on both math concepts and chemistry concepts. He was able to help me in both of these areas. He is both punctual and professional and able to break things down for me so I was no so afraid. I would highly recommend him!
